Four years after Margit was born, her sister Gunhild joined the family. Margit and her younger sibling Gunhild share some life experiences. That is, they grew up in the same household. And they each dealt with life-forming hardships. But their life paths took some very different turns.
Gunhild wrote the following after Margit died and her memoir had come out. She outlived her older sister by two dozen years.
A note about Gunhild’s writeup
In converting Gunhild’s story from typed sheets to online pages, we didn’t change her content. However, we rearranged some sentences and paragraphs for better flow. We also smoothed out some transitions, fixed typos, and added commas. We added subheadings to help you understand structure, and inserted paragraph breaks so it’s easier to read.
