It’s all about the tree
<< | Paintings | >>
Over her career, Margit painted unnumerable trees. Often one tree stands out among the others in the landscape, such as in “Like Ours“. But in her theme “Lone Tree”, the tree takes center stage like in no other painting. Here, on a wind-swept hilltop, a single tree leans out over the valley.

See Can you help ID these? - ID: 69-10? [Lone Tree] = NEEDS CONFIRMATION

- ID: 69-37 “Lone Tree”
- Details: 16″ x 20″ / Orig price $10 / 1st owner: Kerchoff (C Anfinson Kirchhof)
- Comment: [Please excuse the flash’s reflection on the glass.] This is only the second painting that Margit labeled as “Lone Tree”.

- ID: 69-40 “Lone Tree”
- Details: 18″ x 24″ / Orig price $15 / 1st owner: C Morken (later G&R Jore)
- Comment: Although this painting is bigger than its predecessor, the layout hasn’t changed. The hills in the distance and the orange lake(?) in the valley have changed only slightly.

- ID: 69-45 “Lone Tree”
- Details: 16″ x 20″ / gifted / 1st owner: H Dyrdahl
- Comment: Recorded soon after the previous “LT”, here the limb fallen at the tree’s trunk has grown. And the orange lake in the valley(?) has receded.
