The artist paints over a mistake?

The story goes that Margit painted a farmhand with a pitchfork throwing loads up onto a wagon — and her husband Palmer, who had more experience with hay, laughed at her depiction. She hadn’t realized it wasn’t done that way. Embarrassed, she painted over the guy.

That was only a curious story — until we found a snapshot from the spring of 1959 that seemed to confirm it.
