Margit Mindrum died on Good Friday, March 28, 1975, of a heart attack.
Having lived in the Easter victory over death, it seems appropriate that her “homecoming” was at Easter time. Five months later, on August 23, 1975, Palmer had his “homecoming.” Their bodies are buried at the Stone Church Cemetary where they spent many hours together mowing, trimming, and beautifying the grounds.

Parts of this story were quoted at both of their funeral services by their pastor, the Rev. Duane Everson.

FOUNTAIN LUTHERAN CHURCH, Hustler, Wisconsin. Margit painted this scene more than 50 times.

Margit’s first framed painting, mentioned [in the Oak Ridge chapter].

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD — Similar painting hangs in the Valley View Nursing Home and the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church at Houston.

Margit’s last painting, an unfinished sunset scene. Both of these paintings are at the home of her daughter, Frieda Nowland.
Note: Here Margit’s memoir also includes two “reprints” from local newspapers. See:
