Note: in his booklet “The Three Landsverks”, Dr. Marion Nelson arranged Margit’s pictures by season. It’s easy to see why he did that. It’s difficult to find a painting that you cannot assign to a season, since Margit was very aware of the times of the year for which she was creating a landscape.

Margit did NOT appreciate comparisons to folk artists like Grandma Moses or regionalists like Grant Wood. She may have accepted comparisons to Robert Wood, whose “October Morn” seems to be a theme.
