A rare painting of a night scene
<< | Paintings | >>
As Margit did most of her painting during the short days of winter, maybe she was still wielding her brush when dusk arrived and her natural sunlight gave way to the glow of moonlight off a countryside of snow. Who knows, but Margit took a break from her typical daylight paintings of “summer stream” and “fall XXX” and experimented with a number of “winter moon” paintings. Though done over a span of years, one consistency in these paintings is the long format of the scene. None are done in Margit’s more usual 16×20 size.
