Winter sunset (near left)

A snowy evening in the country, with a house in the foreground

<< | Paintings | >>

Description: An evening winter scene in gold, white, and dark browns. A bare tree and a creek dominate the foreground center. At left sits a small house with two golden windows. At right in the distance, a second house is barely visible against the dark trees. A thin trail of smoke rises from the chimney of each house. With the sun recently set, a golden-orange sky hangs over the snowy landscape and is mirrored in the creek.

  • ID: 66-11 “Winter sunset cottage” (22″ x 40″)
  • One of Margit’s wider paintings at 40 inches, this painting has the feel of a Hallmark card.

  • ID: 72-15 “Cottage stream orange yellow evening” 18×20? NO
  • ID: “Sunset winter scene”
  • 71-18? “Winter sunset & house”

  • ID: 75-03 “Sunset winter scene” (22″ x 28″)
  • This is the last painting Margit was working on. It’s unsigned. of course, because it’s not finished (some parts don’t even have paint yet). With the artist having left home, it’s only fitting that no smoke is rising from the chimney.
